Patient, detailed guidance for complete beginners

Michele discovered hoop dance while looking for a fun way to move at home as a new mom. What began as exercise grew into creative self-expression, stress relief, and a deeper mind-body connection.

As her practice developed, Michele became involved in the hooping community, attended workshops, and taught beginner classes at a local dance institute. Her teaching is patient, detailed, and focused on helping you understand where to place your hands, body, and hoop—not simply imitate a finished trick.

Course FAQ

Questions before you begin?

Everything you need to know before your first lesson.

Is this course suitable for a complete beginner?

Yes. The course begins with hoop selection, practice guidance, currents, planes, and foundational movements before progressing into tricks, transitions, and combinations.

Do I need dance experience?

No dance experience is required. Learn each movement individually, then begin connecting moves as your confidence grows.

What kind of hoop do I need?

A correctly sized adult hoop-dance hoop will make learning much easier than a lightweight children’s hoop. Michele recommends starting with a heavier PE beginner hoop that reaches about your belly button when it rests on the floor—typically around 36–42 inches in diameter, depending on your height. A 100 or 125 PSI hoop is a good beginner range. If you would also like a second hoop for off-body moves, choose a large-diameter 3/4-inch polypro with grip tape or a sanded inner surface. The course includes a full lesson to help you choose.

When can I start, and how long do I have access?

You can start as soon as you enroll and move through the lessons at your own pace. Every video lesson is downloadable, so you can save personal copies and revisit them whenever you like. We recommend downloading and backing up the files you want to keep. Downloads are for your personal use and may not be shared or redistributed.

Is the $45 price a one-time payment?

Yes. The course is a one-time $45 purchase—not a subscription or monthly charge—and includes lifetime access.

How much instruction is included?

You’ll receive 55 self-paced lessons with more than nine hours of video instruction, covering foundational moves, transitions, combinations, practice guidance, and bonus tricks.

Can I take the course on my phone, tablet, or computer?

Yes. You can access the course through a web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. Podia is mobile-friendly, although a tablet or computer may be more comfortable when you want a larger view while practicing the movements.

What if I’m unhappy with the course?

You may request a full refund within seven calendar days of purchase by emailing michele@autumnflow.com. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, and your hosted course access will end. If you downloaded any course files, you’ll need to delete them.
